Colossians 1:19 The Sufficiency of Christ
In Colossians 1:15-18 Paul provides four descriptions of Jesus Christ:
1. Jesus Christ is the image of God – Deity (v. 15a)
2. Jesus Christ is the first born of creation – Supremacy (v. 15b-17a)
3. Jesus Christ is the sustainer of all things – Sovereignty (v. 17)
4. Jesus Christ is the head of the church – Pre-eminency (v. 18)
These descriptions culminated in Colossians 1:19 showing the sufficiency of Jesus Christ in all thing.
My friends, I don’t know what it is that you’re looking for in life. This one thing I know – Christ Jesus is the only one who can satisfy you, for it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell.
