Three History-Makers – Luke 3:1-6

In Luke 3:1-6 let’s look at three history-makers in the preparation of the way of the Lord:

The Powerful Politicians (v. 1) – Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilate, and Heron all played a role in Jesus Christ’s life.
The Piais Priests (v. 2a) – Caiaphas and Annas both played a role in the capture and crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
The Peculiar Preacher (VV. 2b-6) – John the Baptist was the for runner to Christ and paved the way.

Application for our use:

The first history-makers we mentioned today were the group of politicians who definitely made history but in whom and in whose group, whether in antiquity or now, we ought never to put our trust in.
The second history-makers were the priests who stood for the establishment religious organization devoid of mercy, bankrupt of true love for people, and lacked the power of God in their rituals. God is using you now, through the opportunities God has granted you to be influential in your friendships with people.
The third history-maker is John the Baptist. John’s message was simple – “Repent!”. Repentance is a requirement for your salvation. John had one single mission in life – and did it with laser focus and excellence. Do you know your mission in life and do you perform it with laser focus and excellence?
